Neo-traditionalist Americana, Bluegrass & Roots music.

Guitarist Willy Watson, Mandolinist Stephen Bernard, and Bassist Matt Speroni began playing together in a local rock band, "Squirrel", playing top-notch dad-rock covers across northern VT. However, when the COVID-19 pandemic struck, live music was put on hold, and they unfortunately parted ways from that project. After a long period of isolation and self-reflection, the trio formed "Minced Oats" off a jam-session, on a porch, in a quiet little neighborhood, as a safe means of continuing to play music during an unpredictable world. 

With the addition of local mainstays Thomas Bryce (Banjo) and Willy Dallas (Fiddle), Minced Oats has catapulted themselves as frontrunners in the Vermont Bluegrass scene - they've earned themselves consecutive nominations for "Best Bluegrass Artist" by Vermont's coveted "Seven Daysies Awards", and continue to pave the path forward on what defines themselves as a prog-traditional Bluegrass group in the Vermont music scene, and beyond.
